Climate Change Impacts on Salt Marsh Blue Carbon, Nitrogen and Phosphorous Stocks and Ecosystem Services

چکیده

Salt marshes are valuable ecosystems, as they provide food, shelter, and important nursery areas for fish macroinvertebrates, a wide variety of ecosystem services human populations. These heavily rely on the floristic composition salt with different species conferring service values adaptation resilience capacities towards stressors. Blue carbon, nitrogen, phosphorous stocks no exception to this, interspecific differences in primary production metabolism physiological traits. Furthermore, these intrinsic characteristics also modulate response any environmental stressor, such ones derived from ongoing global changes. This will shape transitional services, significant changes value terms cultural, provisioning, regulating, supporting special emphasis possible alterations blue retained key environments. Thus, need integrate plant feedbacks expected climate change-driven stressors becomes evident accurately estimate marsh community, transfer fundamental into economic assets, fluid communication ecosystems stakeholders, decision policy makers, management entities.

The Impacts of Land Use Change in Soil Carbon and Nitrogen Stocks (Case Study Shahmirzad Lands, Semnan Province, Iran)

Soil carbon and nitrogen contents play an important role in sustaining soil physical and chemical quality and help to have healthy environments. The continues conversion of rangelands to arable lands has the potential to change carbon and nitrogen sequestration. In this study to evaluate the effects of land use change on soil organic carbon and nitrogen stock, forty samples collected from north...

Climate change, biotic interactions and ecosystem services.

Climate change is real. The wrangling debates are over, and we now need to move onto a predictive ecology that will allow managers of landscapes and policy makers to adapt to the likely changes in biodiversity over the coming decades. There is ample evidence that ecological responses are already occurring at the individual species (population) level. The challenge is how to synthesize the growi...

Nitrogen cycle and ecosystem services in the Brazilian La Plata Basin: anthropogenic influence and climate change.

The increasing human demand for food, raw material and energy has radically modified both the landscape and biogeochemical cycles in many river basins in the world. The interference of human activities on the Biosphere is so significant that it has doubled the amount of reactive nitrogen due to industrial fertiliser production (Haber-Bosch), fossil fuel burning and land-use change over the last...

Climate change impacts of US reactive nitrogen.

Fossil fuel combustion and fertilizer application in the United States have substantially altered the nitrogen cycle, with serious effects on climate change. The climate effects can be short-lived, by impacting the chemistry of the atmosphere, or long-lived, by altering ecosystem greenhouse gas fluxes. Here we develop a coherent framework for assessing the climate change impacts of US reactive ...

Potential climate change impacts on temperate forest ecosystem processes

Large changes in atmospheric CO2, temperature, and precipitation are predicted by 2100, yet the long-term consequences for carbon (C), water, and nitrogen (N) cycling in forests are poorly understood. We applied the PnET-CN ecosystem model to compare the long-term effects of changing climate and atmospheric CO2 on productivity, evapotranspiration, runoff, and net nitrogen mineralization in curr...
